Jim Calzaretta. Owner. On every roof.
Roofing Nashville TN is the roofing arm of Southern Renovations Solutions — an owner-led Nashville contractor focused on doing the job right and being honest about cost from the first conversation.
Jim does every inspection himself. No commissioned salesperson, no scare tactics, no "your roof is shot" pitch. If your roof has 5 years left, you'll hear that. If it doesn't, you'll get a written number and a clear explanation.
Four steps, no surprises.
1. Free inspection
Same-day if it's urgent. We get on the roof, document what we find, and tell you what we'd do if it was our house.
2. Written estimate
Materials, labor, permits, disposal — itemized. If it's an insurance claim, we coordinate with your adjuster.
3. Tear-off & install
Typically 1–3 days. Tear-off and dry-in happen day one — your home is never left open overnight.
4. Walkthrough & warranty
Final clean (we run a magnet roller for nails), photo doc of the new system, and your written workmanship warranty.
Costs, insurance and timelines.
How much does a new roof cost in Nashville?
Most asphalt shingle replacements on a typical 2,000–3,000 sqft Nashville home run $9,000 to $20,000 depending on pitch, layers to tear off, and shingle grade. Architectural shingles add roughly $2,000–$3,000 over 3-tab. Metal roofs run higher — usually $25,000+.
Do you work with insurance?
Yes. We do free storm-damage inspections, document what we find with photos, and work directly with your adjuster. You're responsible for the deductible; we bill the carrier for the approved scope. We don't promise to "waive your deductible" — that's insurance fraud, not a sales pitch.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most replacements run 1 to 3 days of on-roof work, weather permitting. Tear-off and dry-in happen day one so the home is never left open overnight.
How long do asphalt shingles last in Tennessee?
3-tab shingles typically last 18–22 years here; architectural shingles 25–30 years. Tennessee summer heat and storm cycles tend to age roofs faster than the package warranty suggests, so a 30-year shingle is rarely a 30-year roof.
What if it rains during the install?
We watch the forecast and dry-in the deck before the day ends. If a surprise storm rolls through mid-tear-off, we tarp and finish the next clear day.
Do I need a permit?
Yes. Roof replacements require a permit in Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford and Sumner counties. We pull permits and handle the final inspection.
